Accreditation
Who is CAAHEP and what is Accreditation all about?
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) was established as a non-profit agency on July 1, 1994. The mission of CAAHEP is to provide public recognition for quality allied health education programs in the CAAHEP system. It remains the largest specialized accreditation system in the country, accrediting allied health educational programs in 18 disciplines, including Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
Accreditation is a voluntary peer process where an organization grants public recognition to an institution or specialized program of study that meets or exceeds nationally established standards. Accreditation is an assurance of acceptable quality in education and is generally conducted to improve academic quality and public accountability.
Each of the Paramedic training centers in the State of Florida is required to achieve and maintain CAAHEP accreditation.
